  1. Does my account have ATM access?

    Yes. Most Zions Bank Internet Accounts come with an ATM card which allows you to access your money at anytime, surcharge free, through Zions' nationwide affiliation with the MoneyPass®1 network.

  2. Are there any minimum balance requirements or fees?

    No. Zions Bank does not charge minimum balance fees on any of its Internet Accounts. However, if you fall into the bottom tier of certain account types you may not earn interest on your account. Please check the account information page for your product to see the interest paid for each tier for that account.

  3. Can I write checks with my Zions Internet Accounts?

    Yes. Many Zions Bank Internet Accounts come with check writing privileges and will allow you to write a check on your account that may be deposited at another institution. You may also contact us at 1-866-761-8349 and request us to issue you an official check by mail. Please note that for money market accounts you are restricted to three (3) check transactions per month, based on federal rules on the usage of money market accounts.

  4. Are there any monthly maintenance fees?

    No. Zions Bank does not charge monthly maintenance fees on its Internet Accounts.

  5. How do I fund my account?

    There are a number of ways to fund your account, including:

    1. Electronic transfer from your linked account - When you apply for your new Zions Bank account you will be asked if you want to fund your account electronically by providing us with the routing and account numbers written on your personal checks. You will also be given the opportunity to have this be an account linked to allow ongoing transfers initiated through Zions Bank Online Banking.

      If you choose to link the account (or other accounts) after you apply, you can enroll the account through Online Banking. We will send you several small transactions (both deposit and withdrawals) for you to verify. After you verify the transactions that we sent to your other financial institution the account will be linked. Once linked, you can log into Online Banking at any time and request a transfer in or out of your external account. Please note that it may take 2 to 3 business days for the transfer to complete and we may place a hold on any incoming funds.

    2. Check - You can write a check out to yourself with your Zions Bank Internet Account number in the memo line and mail it to:

    3. Wire - You can wire money into your account by calling one of our friendly customer service representatives at 1-866-761-8349 who can walk you through the wire funding process.

  6. Can accounts be opened in the name of a trust?

    Yes. Our account application gives you the option of opening your account in the name of the trust. As you complete the online application, we will tell you the information we need from you in order to finalized your trust account. If you have any questions, please contact one of our friendly customer service representatives at 1-866-761-8349 who can walk you through the process of opening this type of account.

  7. Is Zions Bank FDIC insured?

    Absolutely. Your deposits at Zions Bank are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation up to the maximum amount allowed by the FDIC.   1. What is a Zions Bank Internet Account?

    Zions Bank Internet Accounts are FDIC insured deposit products created to provide our customers with high-yielding accounts that are delivered directly to you without the need for going into a local Financial Center. By opening and servicing these accounts via the Internet, we are able to offer quality products and services to everyone across the country even if we do not have a Financial Center nearby.

  2. Do I have to change banks?

    No. Although you can sign up for a High-Yield Checking account to do your day-to-day transactions, this is not required to open a Zions Bank Internet Account and receive our excellent service and rates. You can fund your account at by electronically linking your Internet Account with your checking or savings account at another institution and moving your money electronically. You can also easily deposit and withdraw money using traditional paper checks.

  3. Is my money secure?

    Absolutely. Zions Bank has been in existence since 1873 and is one of the oldest banks in the western United States. All of our deposit accounts are insured to the maximum amount allowed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. This insurance covers up to $250,000 per category of account ownership for each customer at the Bank.   4. How do I withdraw money from my account?

    There are a number of ways to gain access to your funds deposited at Zions Bank, including:

    1. Electronic transfer to your linked account - Once your account is set up to be linked to an external account at another institution by enrolling your external account within Online Banking (or when you applied), you can log into Online Banking at any time and request a transfer to or from your external account. Please allow a minimum of 2-3 days when enrolling your external account to verify your external account. We will send you several small transactions (both deposit and withdrawals) for you to verify. Please note that it may take 2 to 3 business days for the transfer to complete and we may place a hold on any incoming funds.
    2. ATM - Most Zions Bank Internet Accounts come with an ATM card which allows you access your money at anytime surcharge free through Zions' nationwide affiliation with the MoneyPass®1 network.
    3. Check - Many Zions Bank Internet Accounts come with check writing privileges and will allow you to write a check on your account that may be deposited at another institution. You may also contact us at 1-866-761-8349 and request an official check by mail. Please note that for money market accounts you are restricted to three (3) check transactions per month, based on federal rules on the usage of money market accounts.
    4. Wire - If you have a wire agreement on file with Zions Bank, you are allowed to contact us at 1-866-761-8349 and request a wire transfer for a nominal fee. Please note that for same-day wire transfers requests must be initiated by 3:00 PM MT, and a properly signed wire agreement must already be on file.

  1. How do I link an external account for electronic money movement?

    To link your Zions Bank account to an external account at another institution you can enroll the account through Zions Bank Online Banking. We will send you several small transactions (both deposit and withdrawals) for you to verify. After you verify the transactions that we sent to your other financial institution the account will be linked. Once linked, you can log into Online Banking at any time and request a transfer in or out of your external account. Please note that it may take 2 to 3 business days for the transfer to complete and we may place a hold on any incoming funds.

  2. When is interest paid on my account?

    Interest is compounded daily and is paid once a month at each statement cycle which is usually the 10th of the month. Please note that for interest to be paid there must be at least $1 in the account at the point of the new statement cycle. Accounts with zero balance are considered closed by our system and any interest earned that month will be forfeited.

  3. Are there any fees associated with my account?

    No. Zions Bank does not charge minimum balance or monthly fees on any of its Internet Accounts. However, if you fall into the bottom tier of certain account types you may not earn interest on your account.
