If your friends have an account with Zions Bank, the Transfer-to-a-Friend feature in Online Banking makes it practically effortless to pay friends online.

Set-up is simple and the transfers take place instantly (your friend's account must also be a Zions Bank® checking or savings account and your friend must be enrolled in Online Banking). Follow the steps below to add your friends' accounts to your account profile and pay friends online!

How to Add a Friend's Account to Your Profile

  1. Log in to Online Banking.
  2. Click on "Other Accounts" on the "Transfers" tab.
  3. Select "Add Friends Zions Account."
  4. Enter the full 9 or 10-digit* account number of the account you are adding (you'll need to get the account number from your friend). You can assign a nickname to the account so you'll easily recognize which friend it belongs to.
  5. Click "Preview Account."
  6. Select Submit and the new account will be added to your list of friends' accounts, and you can transfer funds to them immediately.

*Zions Bank checking accounts are 9-digits in length; savings accounts are 10-digits.

how to Transfer Funds to a Friend's Account

  1. Log in to Online Banking.
  2. Under "Quick Transfer", using the drop-down boxes, select the account you want to transfer funds from and the friend's account you want to transfer funds to. (Please note that you must add your friends' account to your account profile before you can make a funds transfer.)
  3. Enter the amount of the transfer, including dollars and cents (example: 27.15). You can also add specific notes about the transfer in the "Add Memo" field.
  4. Click "Preview Transfer" and review the transfer details.
  5. If you approve, click "Submit". A confirmation message will appear when the transfer is complete.

Once the transfer has been submitted, you can immediately review the transaction in the "Activity" section of your account. It will appear as "Online Banking Transfer."
