As an executive vice president of Commercial Banking, Phillip Meeks oversees commercial lending activities in the Salt Lake City metro area, including the commercial loan portfolio management and commercial banking groups. Meeks’ responsibilities include oversight of the Specialty Loan Servicing Group in Salt Lake City that is managed by Sean McCarty. This center provides servicing for National Real Estate, Practice Pathways and Business Banking loans not underwritten by the Business Banking Loan Center.
Meeks began his banking career at The Lockhart Co., a Zions Bank subsidiary, in 1982 before moving to Zions Bank’s Credit Management department in 1986. He later served as a senior vice president and business banking manager at Wells Fargo and a senior vice president of Commercial Banking at Zions Bank.
Meeks received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and accounting from Brigham Young University.
Active in his community, Meeks serves on the boards of the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake and the Utah Center for Neighborhood Stabilization. He is a past chair of Zions Bank’s annual Paint-a-Thon service project.
Meeks and his wife, Julie, have four children and eight grandchildren.
