MIRACLE HOT SPRINGS

A hunting trip proved more successful than Dean Olsen could have imagined when he discovered a hot spring bubbling out of the ground. He was so excited that he sold his grocery store in order to develop a new business around the hot spring. This became Miracle Hot Springs in Buhl, Idaho, now entering the third generation of family ownership.

Current owner Enoch Olsen says he learned the business from his grandpa, Dean, while growing up. He loved watching the company grow and is happy to be taking Miracle Hot Springs into the next generation. Many customers are families who came to the springs when they were little and now bring their own children. They span all ages, from families with young kids to senior citizens who come soak in the hot water as therapy.

Miracle Hot Springs is designed to be the ultimate rejuvenation experience. The natural hot spring water is odorless with an alkaline pH of 9.6. Because of the water’s high pH, it has a silky soft feeling. No chemicals are added, so all four outdoor pools are drained and refilled daily. The geothermal aquifer that supplies the water for Miracle Hot Springs extends throughout the area.

Visitors can enjoy the public outdoor pools or, for a more personal experience, try one of the 15 private hot pools and six VIP pools available on a reservation basis. They usually book out every weekend, so calling in advance is highly recommended. Miracle Hot Springs can be enjoyed year-round. In fact, some of the best times to visit are when the snow flies because the water is hot enough to raise your core temperature, so you’re less likely to notice the cold when you get out. The facility is open all year Monday through Saturday, including holidays.
