He is excited about the national and international growth of his company after more than 25 years in the online IT training and certification business.

Vallejo is the first to tell you he isn’t sure he started TestOut after being laid off from Novell because of inspiration or desperation. But he now has more than 90 full-time employees with an international outreach. Some of his top markets include India, Brazil, South Africa, the U.K. and Australia.
He is personally and professionally motivated by changing people’s lives through the educational process he built. TestOut is hyper-focused on IT training. The company offers simulations that exactly mimic IT environments, so students can configure computing hardware, networks and security systems in virtual real-world settings and learn lessons that only experience can teach.
Even though TestOut sells its online training to IT professionals, the core of its business model is directed to students from K-12, junior colleges and universities. Vallejo often says that learning through textbooks will soon be a thing of the past. Students today want to log in and take a course online.
Specialized training such as that offered by TestOut has the potential to changes lives by offering a skill set that will translate into finding better jobs. A young man in San Antonio, Texas, now financially successful, still takes his teacher to lunch every month out of gratitude for his TestOut education.
