Dairy West UT
The mission of this organization is to inspire trust in dairy farming and products while driving worldwide demand.
Our farmers and ranchers represent an important part of the Utah and Idaho economies, many as generational operations. Dairy farming is a significant industry with 600 dairies, 672,000 dairy cows and 45 dairy processing plants which drive $530 million in dairy exports between both states every year. Protecting and growing this vibrant business is the mission for Dairy West.
Karianne Fallow, CEO of Dairy West, says the mission of this organization is to inspire trust in dairy farming and products while driving worldwide demand for dairy products. She and her team of 21 passionate employees, including 8 registered dietitians, support research and development on new products to meet world demand and work to increase dairy exports worldwide. This is a team of storytellers and marketers working to protect our dairy farmers by sharing stories on food production and farm families, with the goal of ensuring long-term prosperity for our farmers in Utah and Idaho.
School food service accounts for 7 percent of all fluid milk sales in the U.S., so that remains a critical connection for Dairy West. They work with schools to add dairy options to the menu and educate on the benefits of dairy, while also arranging dairy farm tours for school groups, sometimes virtually if in-person visits aren’t possible.
