What’s more important than the health and wellbeing of the children in our lives? The Children’s Center in Salt Lake City is embracing this commitment through providing evidence-based therapy for children and families to help during times of our greatest need. This treatment is life-changing and benefits society because research has found a connection between good social-emotional development and lifelong health and wellbeing. As evidence-based therapy, the team of 110 knows it works, and there’s measurements in place to track the long-term benefits, like increased self-reliance and performance in school.
Rebecca Dutson is the Chief Executive Officer of The Children’s Center, which is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the United States, serving infants through children up to age 7. The Children’s Center is most known for their therapeutic preschool program; however, there’s also child and family therapy and an early-childhood consultation and training program to teach other providers about social-emotional development. With their comprehensive services, they’re reaching 1,800 children and their families every year.
Rebecca says this important work is affecting the mental well-being of the most vulnerable population that doesn’t have a voice by teaching coping skills to last a lifetime. The Children’s Center will be holding their annual gala at The Gallivan Center on June 7 with all proceeds benefitting the center.
