Did you know that we have 464 ski resorts in the United States; however, the best are right here in Utah, like Solitude Mountain Resort which President and CEO Kim Mayhew would agree with. She grew up in a skiing family along with her three brothers and loves what she does for Solitude.

With her 525 employees at Solitude Mountain Resort, creating an affordable family ski resort is a driving principle for Kim, who is one of a handful of female CEOs of ski resorts in the U.S. She believes the importance is based on what you do and how you do it. After coming up through the ranks, Kim is available and supports collaboration among her associates. She’s also a mentor for the Ski Area Management Program, SAM, and promotes up and coming female talent in the ski industry. Plus, she chairs the Ski Utah Board.

Solitude has plenty to do, which includes programs for kids, locals and destination guests. In addition to world-class skiing and snowboarding, there’s also snowshoeing and a Nordic Center where they teach classic and skate skiing. The well-known village has great dining, plus the Roundhouse is famous for their Himalayan curry, and the Yurt stays open until April.
