Speaking on Business: Idaho Telecom Alliance
The Idaho Telecom Alliance is a group of 13 different companies offering high speed internet, local and long-distance telephone service, cell phone service and digital television.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
With 160 towns and over 70,000 square miles of service territory, it makes sense that Idaho has their own telecom association alliance. This is a group of 13 different companies serving all of Idaho with an increased focus on Southern Idaho, known as the Idaho Telecom Alliance. These telecom providers are family businesses, co-ops and ESOPs that have been in operation for decades and sometimes over a century and offer high speed internet, local and long-distance telephone service, cell phone service and digital television.
What motivates this group is their belief that independently they don’t have the voice they have when they come together. With John Stuart’s rich background in telecommunications, he’s the perfect president of Idaho Telecom Alliance. He grew up in this business and is the third-generation telecommunications provider. He feels it’s important for the FCC to understand Idaho, so the Idaho Telecom Alliance has responsibility to make sure the state and federal government are up to speed on what Idaho needs to grow. This organization is providing the connection between federal and state leaders and the communities they serve.
The Idaho Telecom Alliance is committed to great work in the telecom industry so they team up with telephone associations of Utah and Wyoming to share best practices.
