Dave Wagers, president of Idaho Candy Company in Boise, likes to say he has one of the sweetest jobs in the world, leading a historic Idaho candy making operation. Their factory was established in downtown Boise in 1909 as one of the first major businesses in the city, and they’re still producing their famous Idaho candies in the same facility. Dave’s father, John, bought the company in 1984 following a successful accounting career and grew the business dramatically. Dave is following in his footsteps as the second generation to lead Idaho Candy Company.

This is what you can refer to as a regional nostalgic candy maker. You know Idaho Candy Company best for producing the famous Idaho Spud Bar, which has been in production since 1912! However, they’re also known for the Cherry Cocktail, Old Faithful bar and their Butter Toffee, which is sold at Christmastime. Just a few years ago Idaho Candy Company created the Huckleberry Gems, two gem-shaped, huckleberry-flavored marshmallow cremes covered in milk chocolate, and they’ve been a hit!

You can find Idaho Candy Company products in major grocery stores throughout Idaho and in surrounding states. The team includes anywhere up to 36 associates, depending on the time of year.
