When you have a company that provides a service assisting us in our greatest time of mental and emotional need, you must be inspired to do so. Jeremy Boberg of Utah Addiction Center believes his work is his life’s calling as he deals with folks in their most vulnerable state.
Jeremy believes in evidence-based treatment, and all counselors at Utah Addiction Center are EMDR qualified. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and it’s a type of therapy specifically designed to help with trauma. All therapies at this center are research-based so they address the underlying issues for a wide range of problems. The team includes trauma therapists and a neurofeedback therapist trained on techniques to calm the Central Nervous System, allowing the client to function normally while facing the stress of past trauma.
A critical aspect of their work, Jeremy says, is to address the underlying conditions causing the addiction, not just the addiction itself. He believes the majority of addictions are due to failed relationships, especially early in life, that often resulted in trauma. Recovery is dependent upon the client’s willingness to face these experiences and develop healthier thinking patterns and coping mechanisms. The team of Utah Addiction Center have created a safe and non-judgmental environment to do their work and have seen remarkable success stories.
