This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
For Sarah Anderson, being a first-time business owner is a lifelong dream that became reality since she opened her business, City of Industry in Salt Lake City five years ago. Right now is a great time to be in business with a thriving economy, rising consumer spending, and loans from the Small Business Administration growing by 29 percent in 2018.
City of Industry is a stationery and gift store, recently located at 209 E. Broadway in Salt Lake City, where you’ll find paper supplies, home goods, stationery, ceramics, candles and a line of custom gift wrap Sarah designed and printed herself. She was motivated by an art grant she received where she honed her skills in designing gift wrap. Another unique item at City of Industry is greeting cards that are blank inside and include a craft envelope and a removable patch with adhesive backing, so it’s designed to be a card and gift all in one.
Sarah says stationery is a long-time passion for her, which is what motivated her to open her first business City of Industry. She has always loved being creative and before launching her business, she worked in other creative endeavors like making kids’ books and temporary tattoos, so she is excited to now have her own creative outlet.
