Speaking on Business: Utah Saves Week
The 2019 Utah Saves Week will be held from Feb. 25 to March 2, and it’s a great way to set personal savings goals.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Studies show that few Americans have adequate savings for retirement or any kind of emergency. Good savings habits start when you establish a budget, learn to set money aside each month and delay purchases until you can afford them. The 2019 Utah Saves Week will be held from Feb. 25 to March 2, and it’s a great way to set personal goals so you can start saving today.
Martha Wunderli, executive director of the Fair Credit Foundation, which runs the challenge here in Utah, says each day of Utah Saves Week is an opportunity to encourage saving. Once you sign up, identify a savings goal and then track your progress. The success of the campaign speaks for itself – in 2018, financial institutions reported over $71 million deposited into new accounts and $614 million deposited into existing accounts during America Saves Week, not to mention 89,000 people committed to save over $100 million for personal savings goals.
Utah Saves Week is one way the Fair Credit Foundation is supporting their mission of improving the financial situation of their clients, who come from all walks of life. This non-profit is focused on helping people reduce debt, increase savings and better manage finances.
