Speaking on Business: Lazy One
Lazy One is providing fun, original sleepwear and other products found in 5,000 stores across the nation.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
When they started their business, Lazy One, the idea for owners Travis and Liesl (lee-sul) Hoopes was to produce fun, original sleepwear. Travis was working for another company at the time and attended many trade shows, which inspired the idea of creating fun pajamas to sell. He put a few designs on paper, created prototypes and he and Liesl launched the new business out of their townhome with a 400-square-foot-shed where they stored product.
Now 16 years later, you can find Lazy One products in 5,000 stores across the nation an they’re sold everywhere from mom and pop shops and chain stores to major resorts areas like Jackson Hole, Alaska and Colorado and throughout the National Parks. One of their signature items is the Bear Collection, with the old-style onesies that include a drop seat in the back and say “Bear Cheeks” as a customer favorite!
Lazy One sleepwear includes PJ sets, nightshirts, bathrobes and cozy slippers for everyone from babies to adults with clever designs, like the sushi nightshirt that says, “I just rolled out of bed”. They also have family-style matching styles that are top sellers.
With online sales taking off, you can find Lazy One products internationally. The team includes 60 associates year-round and increases to 85 during peak season.
