Speaking on Business: Little Sapling Toys
Little Sapling Toys is creating long-lasting, safe and educational toys for kids.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
When they started their business, Little Sapling Toys, Nick and Kimber Christensen were motivated by finding a source of income while Nick finished school. In the 10 years since, Little Sapling Toys has become the top toy seller on Etsy and one of the bigger sellers of high-quality wooden toys for kids. As members of the military, since Nick and Kimber both served, this is a veteran-owned business.
Little Sapling Toys is creating long-lasting, safe and educational toys for kids. The wood used for Little Sapling Toys is made from hard maple, walnut and cherry which are all hard domestic woods and high-grain, so the toys won’t splinter. Their toy selection includes alphabet blocks, wooden blocks, teethers, a memory game, wooden charts used to measure kids’ heights, plus sturdy wooden stools. The focus is creating something beautiful and educational, and the best product testers are still their kids, who play with the toys until they shipped out. The toys are so well-built, Little Sapling Toys are considered legacy toys that can be passed on and are a great option for gifts.
Nick and Kimber run Little Sapling Toys as a partnership, with Kimber as the CEO, and they love working together.
