Speaking on Business: Greek Festival
The Greek Festival is the largest ethnic festival in the state, most known for their fabulous food.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
If you’ve heard of festivals Utah is famous for, the Greek Festival in Salt Lake City is top on the list. It’s also the largest ethnic celebration in the state, attracting as many as 50,000 visitors over the three-day event, which starts today.
The Greek Festival is most known for their fabulous food that is so popular, there’s lines out the door to get it! But, don’t worry— the lines move fast, so the wait isn’t long! Come try fabulous grilled meats, Dolemathes, spanakopita and gyros. But the real highlight is the unreal, made-from-scratch Greek pastries, like the baklava, which is some of the best you can buy.
In addition to amazing food, you can experience a taste of Greek history and culture, while watching traditional Greek dance, buying Greek jewelry and visiting the stunning Greek Orthodox Church in downtown Salt Lake City. The Greek Festival is the annual fundraiser for Utah’s Greek community, and sends money to over 20 different local charities connected to the church.
Come celebrate the impact, hospitality and zest for life of our Greek community. This year’s Greek Festival starts Thursday and runs through Sunday Sept. 9, held at 279 S. 300 West in Salt Lake City.
