Speaking on Business: Lunatic Fringe
Lunatic Fringe offers all the services of a traditional hair salon like cuts, colors, facial waxing and beard trimming.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Lauren Spatafore, owner of Lunatic Fringe Salon in Midvale, is part of the 12 million female-owned businesses in the United States today, which estimates women are starting 1,800 businesses a day, a significant increase from the last five years.
Lunatic Fringe offers all the services of a traditional hair salon, like cuts, colors, facial waxing and beard trimming, but what sets them apart is that all stylists have a specialty, so they can serve particular needs for their clients. Lauren’s area of expertise is fashion hair colors that are really popular now like lavender, blue or pink. Other specialties are balage, which is the newest rage with highlighting, men’s haircuts or a specific hair color, like blonde or brunette. If there isn’t someone who is specializes in what a customer needs, they collaborate to make sure the client receives exactly what they’re looking for.
To achieve her goal, Lauren recruits from a local hair school to find stylists who have graduated, best fit Lunatic Fringe and puts them through their intense 8-week training program that prepares them to work at the high level the salon is known for. The specialized approach is working, and Lunatic Fringe has a loyal customer base, especially top-of-the-line products like Kerastase and Orbie.
