This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Small business is the backbone of our economy, and as a consumer, you can choose to support them. Every day across the United States, small businesses are creating jobs, driving innovation and building communities.
Zions Bank’s commitment to our community is demonstrated by making loans to small businesses and, once again, during the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2018 fiscal year, Zions ranked No. 1.
For 25 consecutive years, Zions Bank has ranked as the state’s top provider of SBA 7(a) loans. In 2018, Zions Bank approved 207 SBA 7(a) loans in Utah, totaling almost $40 million. Fifty-two percent of these loans were to women and minority-owned businesses. The capital provided through Zions Bank’s loans to Utah businesses allowed them to hire almost 550 new employees and maintain 1,100 positions.
According to the State of Small Business report, small businesses with less than 500 employees comprise 99 percent of all U.S. employer firms, and many report that obtaining capital remains a challenge. That’s one reason Zions Bank is dedicated to supporting this economic growth engine in Utah.
Today’s entrepreneurs need support from organizations like Zions Bank. They’re creating a new business, which strengthens and grows the economy. When we choose to do business with small companies, we boost the local tax base and improve our quality of life.
For Zions Bank, I’m Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
