Speaking on Business: Mill Hollow Outdoor Adventure Center
Mill Hollow Outdoor Adventure Center offers adventure camps for kids to experience the beauty of nature
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
With summer on the horizon, we’re all working on our plans, especially with the kids out of school soon. If outdoor experiences are on the list, the Mill Hollow Outdoor Adventure Center, started by Granite School District, is a great option. This learning center, located in the beautiful high Uintah Mountains, has hosted thousands of school children in the 60 years it’s been around, for summer through fall.
Mill Hollow Adventure Center will be offering adventure camps for kids, from upper elementary to junior high age, in the summer months. Experience the beauty of being in nature with activities and educational programs, like hiking, studying wildlife and bonding with other campers over nature’s beauty. In the evenings there’s the campfire and the trading post, and most kids who come don’t want to leave and wish their time at camp was longer.
Originally the Mill Hollow Adventure Center was a part of the Granite School District, which would bring kids up as part of their science-learning program. However, when the camp was going to change hands, Aaron Barker and a group of camp alumni stepped in to ensure the camp’s valuable outdoor programming would continue, and this summer it’s transitioning to ownership by the YMCA, who is committed to introducing kids to the great outdoors.
