Speaking on Business: Jacketta Sweeping
Jacketta Sweeping provides sweeping services for property management companies, road builders, contractors and cities.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Neil Jacketta started his parking lot sweeping business, Jacketta Sweeping, in 1968 as a side business to his job, in partnership with his wife, Bonnie. He steadily grew his company and within four years, it was big enough he quit his job and became a full-time sweeper business. In the early 80s, his daughter, Debbie, joined the company and said it was a great lifestyle business while she was raising her kids. Today, she owns the company, and under her leadership, it’s grown to 20 employees.
Jacketta Sweeping provides sweeping services for property management companies, road builders, contractors and cities who decide to outsource street sweeping services instead of purchasing their own equipment. Right now they’re preparing for the busy summer season when their employee base grows to handle the volume of work. A major area of business for them is parking lot maintenance, in winter and summer.
While Jacketta Sweeping has a dedicated customer base, Debbie has been strategic in optimizing the company website, so they’re easily found online and as part of a national organization of sweeping companies, this has been a resource to bring in new business.
This year Jacketta Sweeping is celebrating 50 years of being in business in Utah and were recognized as Sweeper of the Year from Pavement Reconstruction Magazine.
