Speaking on Business: Tracy Aviary
Tracy Aviary, the unbelievable bird sanctuary in Salt Lake City, boasts 135 species and 430 birds.

Tim Brown, president and CEO of Tracy Aviary, is the perfect person to have over our world-class aviary because he’s an enthusiastic, knowledgeable advocate for birds. This unbelievable bird sanctuary in Salt Lake City boasts 135 species and 430 birds, and you’ll spot wild birds drawn to the natural habitat throughout Tracy Aviary.
Opening in May is Expedition Kea, featuring birds from New Zealand and Australia including the curious and fascinating Kea that love to play. Or the Laughing Kookaburra which you have to see in person because their laugh is so human-like.
Tim and his team are motivated to educate about birds and how fascinating they are. They’ve launched Nose to Beak bird shows and roaming encounters at Tracy Aviary and will be hosting the Urban Bird Festival May 12th and 13th that includes bird walks, hands-on bird friendly craft activities and more. They believe in education programs, like hosting school groups and offering day camps for kids. Tracy Aviary also likes to educate people on protecting our amazing birds from accidentally crashing into glass.
This year Tracy Aviary is celebrating their 80th anniversary, and it’s a great time to check out this beautiful bird refuge, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
