Speaking on Business: Christian Center of Park City
The Christian Center of Park City is a non-denominational organization providing assistance throughout Summit County.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
After nine years at the helm, Dr. Rob Harter has as much passion now as when he started as the executive director of the Christian Center of Park City. With impressive growth in both Park City and Heber City, an increasing population has increased services from the Christian Center of Park City, making the work this non-denominational organization is providing even more important. This includes basic items like food, clothing, household goods, rent assistance, mental health services or assisting international student workers find a roommate for the Park City seasonal work.
The Christian Center of Park City operates one of the largest food pantries in the state, and has three thrift stores and a counseling center serving Summit and Wasatch County. This engaged team of 37 employees fills backpacks for kids who are food insecure or helps provide for someone who lost everything in a fire. With the anxiety epidemic, increases in suicide rates and opiate addiction, they discovered a need for mental health support, so they built their Counseling Center with nine counselors by year end.
As a non-profit, the Christian Center of Park City is always working to raise funds to continue their programming. On June 16-17, they’re holding their annual Latino Arts Festival. And this fall, they host the Hike for Hunger.
