Speaking on Business: Don Gale
Over the course of his career, Don Gale has written 6,000 editorials, 400 newspaper columns, 1,000 speeches and 10 books.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
If you ask Don Gale, owner of Words 3, he would tell you he’s had an exciting and interesting life, especially for a guy who started out poor in Salt Lake City. In fact, he’s the first in his immediate family to graduate from a university. This prolific author, editor and former KSL executive has been to 35 countries and interviewed people from all nations, like Yasser Arafat, or families of “the disappeared” in Argentina and Chile.
With the many types of writing he’s done, Don’s favorite has always been editorials because he gets the challenge of writing about a new subject every day. Over the course of his career, he’s written 6,000 editorials, 400 newspaper columns, 1,000 speeches and 10 books. You can still find his columns posted in the Salt Lake Tribune from time to time.
His most recent publication is a memoir about his life called “Magic Moments” which chronicles highlights of his career, like the time he met President Jimmy Carter or when he was confronted by the KGB. One of his most memorable moments is falling in love at the age of 12 and later marrying the same girl, his sweetheart, Doris. They were successfully married for 62 years until she passed away recently.
