Speaking on Business: Crown Burger
Crown Burger is known for being the first to bring the pastrami burger to Utah, and this year they're celebrating their 40th anniversary.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
When they started Crown Burger in 1978, John and Rula Katzourakis and Rula’s brother, Nick, worked hard to create a successful restaurant. John worked from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day doing prep work for their delicious homemade onion rings and chili, and word got out. Within a month, they had a line out the door. And this year, they’re celebrating their 40th anniversary.
The original Crown Burger is still located at 377 East 200 South in Salt Lake City, with 6 additional locations, owned by John and Rula’s family members throughout the Wasatch Front. Rula and John were the first to bring the pastrami burger to Utah, and if you want the original, you get it at Crown Burger. Each burger is custom made with lettuce, tomato and onion, and you won’t find any fillers. With over 100 menu items, there’s something for everyone, including low carb options, like the Greek salad that is a customer favorite and other classics like the toasted tuna melt. Yum!
Crown Burger has family members involved, working alongside their long-standing associates. They’ve had people from all over the world come try their iconic restaurant, including guests from as far away as Europe and Japan. At Crown Burger, they’re proud to offer great food that’s affordable and delicious.
