In Utah, we are serious about taking care of those who have served our country with military service … and it shows. Utah is one of the top five states in the nation for veteran employment. Statewide, the Department of Workforce Services reported that over 250 veterans were placed in new positions last year alone.

Zions Bank is supporting this important work with their Military Internship Program. The program includes financial education, mentors, access to senior management, executive market experience, job search education, access to hiring officials from other companies, networking and community involvement. Job placement for the program is at 100 percent.

Since launching the program, Zions has hired over 90 military interns, an impressive and educated group. Through their military experience, they’ve managed budgets in the billions, supervising thousands and serving collectively 163 combat tours.

Zions Bank President and CEO Scott Anderson said, “We rely on the men and women of the armed forces to serve our country and protect our freedoms. We ask them to do this understanding the personal sacrifices they and their families make. And these extraordinary individuals carry out their duties with commitment, discipline, leadership and perseverance. Zions Bank is honored to support our servicemen and women as they work to make both our bank and our country stronger.”

For Zions Bank, I’m Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
