Speaking on Business: The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium provides visitors with an extraordinary experience.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
You will not find a person more passionate about marine life than CEO and founder Brent Andersen of Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. In 1997, Brent was so dedicated to the idea of bringing an aquarium to Salt Lake City that he would take a van with small tanks to schools and other areas as he tried to secure funding. Fast forward 20 years and he’s now in a 136,000-square-foot-aquarium with 4,500 animals and nearly one million visits per year.
Brent and his talented team of colleagues are committed to creating an extraordinary experience at the aquarium, located at 12033 S. Lone Peak Parkway in Draper and education remains a top priority. In addition to their mobile vans, which visit students around the state, there’s a state-of-the-art science learning center under construction on the aquarium campus, with educational programming from kindergarten through the university level.
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is constantly adding new exhibits for their loyal customer base. Don’t miss the newest one, Butterfly Experience, an immersive journey through the lifecycle of a butterfly. Although it sounds unusual, be sure to check out the rare two-toed sloths, and the aquarium is the only place in Utah to have them.
