Speaking on Business: Bailey’s Sleigh Rides
Bailey's Sleigh Rides takes you back in time with a ride through snow on a horse-drawn sleigh.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Eugene and Ruth Bailey operated a dairy farm in the Ogden Valley over 30 years ago. They were looking for a way to continue the farming lifestyle and they thought turning their ranch into a tourist operation would be a great way to share their beautiful lifestyle with the public. So, 20 years ago they started raising horses on their ranch, bought some cool sleighs and now it’s became Bailey’s Sleigh Rides in Liberty, Utah, known around the world.
Through the Baileys’ connections to the tourism industry in Utah, they have guests come into their ranch from all over the world. There’s nothing like a horse-drawn sleigh through snow to give you a glimpse into the past. And all of their guests love the herd of horses, the elk and the reindeer that live on property. The Baileys like to offer a warm cup of chocolate in their refurbished barn following the ride.
With summer coming up, Bailey’s Sleigh Rides rents their horses and carriages out for wonderful family events, like weddings and sometimes give tours at their ranch. Come this fall, they have fabulous activities for families and there’s fall, there’s a pumpkin patch and other activities to enjoy. By the way, this is very much a family operation with their kids and grandkids all involved.
