Speaking on Business: Globus Relief
Globus Relief gathers medical supplies and matches these resources with medical mission teams around the world.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Ash Robinson, president and CEO of the Globus Relief organization gathers medical supplies from manufacturers, hospitals, clinics and medical distribution companies and matches these resources with medical mission teams around the world. This includes everything from reusable and disposable medical supplies to medical devices needed for surgical procedures. Globus Relief is working to bridge the gap of supplies and send them to the people and countries in tremendous need of these supplies.
Globus Relief partners with over 800 charity organizations where they supply these products and has redirected 16 plus million pounds of product from local landfills and sent them around the world, improving countless lives. Approximately 80 percent of the resources they supply are donated and 20 percent are purchased on the secondary market, with 100 percent of financial donations going to those in need, for the greatest impact.
Globus Relief understands that when we’re facing healthcare issues, we have a loss of productivity and according to their research, it accounts to $1.5 trillion a year around the world. Besides the obvious humanitarian initiative of Globus Relief, they’re also motivated to address this productivity issue and have been for 22 years with medical resources they provide being sent to 150 countries and territories worldwide.
