Once again, the eyes of the world are turned to Utah with the launch of the 2018 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah today. This once-a-year event is bringing in some of the world’s most prestigious cyclists to compete in “America’s Toughest Stage Race”. With extensive media coverage and free spectator events in the host venues, everybody can enjoy the Tour of Utah.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the Tour of Utah, which kicks off in St. George with the Prologue, a 3.3 mile time trial event on Red Hills Parkway. It concludes on Sunday, Aug. 12, on Historic Main Street in Park City. Additional host venues include Cedar City, Payson, Antelope Island State Park, Layton, Salt Lake City, Canyons Village at Park City Mountain and Snowbird Resort.
True to its nickname as “America’s Toughest Stage Race”, the 2018 Tour of Utah will include almost 540 miles of racing and elevation gain of 44,000 with the return of three legendary climbs … Mount Nebo, Little Cottonwood Canyon and Empire Pass. There’s 9 Utah Office of Tourism King of the Mountain Climbs and 13 Utah Sports Commission Sprint lines, all designed to provide the ultimate competition experience.
