Speaking on Business: Ketchum Innovation Center
The Ketchum Innovation Center is working to grow entrepreneurial opportunities in the Wood River Valley.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
The Wood River Valley is known for its beauty and recreational opportunities, including the word-famous Sun Valley Resort, which means tourism is a significant business driver. So, the group at the Ketchum Innovation Center is working to grow additional entrepreneurial opportunities in this area of the state
This non-profit organization offers mentorship, education, community building and capital solutions for startup businesses. Christy Anna Gerber, interim executive director, says her team at the Ketchum Innovation Center is available to help vet your idea, offering everything from brainstorming to mentorship with current and retired executives and service providers as you develop your new business. They can also direct you to funding sources, including small business loans and grants. They offer around 50 educational programs every year on branding, tax information and goal-setting with the intention to help you succeed.
The Ketchum Innovation Center collaborates with an organization called Mountain Ventures, which is a group of business support centers like the KIC specifically located in mountain towns providing resources for locally-based businesses and development opportunities. This has expanded their network to include more connections and additional resources for their clients.
While the Ketchum Innovation Center is available for anyone, their goal is to develop younger entrepreneurs looking to make the Wood River Valley home.
