Speaking on Business: BRU
BRU has a high-tech beer wall where you get to decide what you want to try, by the ounce in self-pour style.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Debbie Kessler’s business experience is from Silicon Valley, surrounded by some of the most high-tech companies in the world. In creating her brewery and pub in downtown Boise, with her husband, Tod, she decided to use technology to share her love of beer in a unique way. Bru, at 132 N. 8th St. in Boise, has a high-tech beer wall where you get to decide what you want to try, by the ounce in self-pour style, from a selection of up to 30 local Idaho brews.
Boise is gaining a reputation as a world-class destination for beer, with some of the best brew masters in the U.S. and a high number of breweries. Bru has collected local favorites, and is working to get the World’s Best American Stout, all in one place for you to try. It’s designed to be a social and very personalized experience, and customers are responding!
In addition to beer, Bru has great food. Their specialty is Neapolitan-style pizza, made in a high-tech oven that is 650 degrees with 30 mile-per-hour convection so it cooks fresh in two minutes! There’s also a salad bowl served in fresh-cooked pizza dough in healthy veggie mix. Bru has found an audience with locals and tourists, with half the customers from out of town.
