Speaking on Business: Juniper Systems
Juniper Systems has created handheld mobile data collection systems used while in the field.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
While growing up on his family farm in Idaho, Ron Campbell learned to always give whatever he did his best. This became the guiding principle when he founded his Logan company, Juniper Systems, in 1993. Juniper Systems is designing and developing ruggedized, or tough, handheld mobile data collection systems that are built to last, no matter what conditions they’re used in.
Juniper Systems’ tablets are used for data collection in the field. Essentially, they’ve taken what used to be done with pen and paper and built it into a handheld computer that is virtually indestructible. While it started out serving the agriculture market, in the 25 years since, the company has expanded into many other markets and now has a diverse customer base that includes land survey and construction, oil and gas, mining, forestry, utility meter reading, GIS mapping and asset management.
Company President DeVon Labrum says their largest market is Land Survey and Construction, and you can find their tablets on job sites across the country, and around the world, with two offices overseas. Juniper Systems works closely with their customers to determine what needs they have and then builds hardware and software solutions for them. Their latest product is serving the equine industry by developing a groundbreaking reproduction ultrasound solution.
