Speaking on Business: The Discovery Center of Idaho
The Discovery Center of Idaho is Idaho’s only hands-on science center.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
One of the most precious resources on the earth is water, which is scarce, fascinating, essential for life and critical to Idaho’s agricultural industry. In celebration of this critical natural resource, the Discovery Center of Idaho’s brought back their popular H2Whoa! Exhibition. It includes a dozen unique and interactive exhibits, like which household item uses the most water or which animal can survive months without any water. This is a do-not-miss so check it out now through fall 2018.
The Discovery Center of Idaho is Idaho’s only hands-on science center with the idea to provide fun, interactive STEM, or Science Engineering Technology and Math, learning in over 150 exhibits, education programming and space to explore. Best of all, it’s located in the heart of Boise.
The Discovery Center of Idaho has always produced their own exhibits since opening in 1988. However, the donation of a CNC router from the Micron Foundation a few years ago made this process even easier. This is a giant machine cuts out wood, plastic, acrylic and metal and is being used to create new exhibits.
Every year the Discovery Center is serving approximately 120,000 visitors, including a rural outreach program and adult nights for ages 21 and older a few times a year. Visit them online at dcidaho.org.
