Speaking on Business: Unitech Composites
Unitech Composites, headquartered in Hayden, is supporting the commercial and defense aerospace industries worldwide.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
An important part of the increasingly diverse Idaho economy is the aerospace industry, which is projected to grow at 15 percent over the next 10 years. One important player in this industry is Unitech Composites, headquartered in Hayden, which is supporting the commercial and defense aerospace industries worldwide.
Mark Tattershall, vice-president of sales and marketing, says Unitech Composites is producing critical programming and components for some of the top aircraft carriers, like Airbus, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, Rockwell Collins and the United States military. Some of their most significant projects include the F-35 BOSS Helmet, a high-precision helmet that allows the pilot to see a full 360 degrees, door surrounds on the Boeing 787, advanced rotor systems and active winglets found on aircraft wings.
The technology involved in each of these projects is complex, and they’ve spent years investing in the latest equipment to build the high-quality components Unitech Composites is known for. Mark has been strategic with hiring capable engineers and has established a strong talent pipeline with local tech colleges to attract the best talent to continue their important work. The future for Unitech Composites is bright, with significant projects on the horizon.
