Speaking on Business: Taylor Chevrolet
Always wanting his own business, Delbert Taylor purchased a car dealership in Rexburg, Idaho, selling Chevrolet, Buick and Oldsmobile in 1928.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Always wanting his own business, Delbert Taylor purchased a car dealership in Rexburg, Idaho, selling Chevrolet, Buick and Oldsmobile in 1928. Today, nearly 90 years later, the business is going strong, now in the third generation of leadership with his grandson, David Taylor, as the CEO.
Taylor Chevrolet offers Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac at their Rexburg dealership, which has 200 cars on average. They’ve also expanded to include other locations in St. Anthony, which carries GMC, Buick and Chevrolet, with used cars at their Idaho Falls lot. David says business is strong and they’ve had an excellent year. In Rexburg, the Chevy Silverado truck is always a top-seller. With the impressive growth of ecommerce in recent years, they do much of their business online; however, many customers still prefer to come into the dealership to “try before they buy” and enjoy their relationships with the staff.
In working toward their 100th anniversary, David says Taylor Chevrolet is serving a generational customer base who come to them because their parents did. Also, they have a great staff, price competitively and are always having fun. Some of their 45 employees have been with them for 40 plus years.
