Speaking on Business: Petersen Family Farm
Go on a hay ride, listen to live music or try fresh apple cider when you visit the Petersen Family Farm during the Fall Harvest Festival.

This week Petersen Family Farm in Riverton is gearing up for one of their biggest events of the year … the Fall Harvest Festival, held this Saturday, Oct. 8 beginning at 10 a.m.! Farmer Luke Petersen says this is the official kickoff for harvest. Admission is free with a variety of activities. You can go on a hay ride, hear live music or try fresh apple cider. New this year is the apple sling shot to fire apples at targets in the field.
The Petersen Pumpkin Patch opened this week where you can pick your own pumpkins. It’s been so popular that Petersen Family Farm expanded to a second location in Holladay around 16th East off Murray Holladay Rd. Customers from the east side of the valley are loving this addition!
Petersen Family Farm has experienced some important changes in the last year including refining their logo, increasing their marketing and altering their mission statement which is now “Connect, discover, grow … the Farm Way.” Luke says the significance in what they do is connecting people back to the earth where their food comes from.
The idea is catching on since Petersen Family Farm is growing from 30 to 50 percent every year. Be sure to visit in December for Christmas on the Farm. Find more online at petersenfamilyfarm.com.
