Speaking on Business: Intermountain Therapy Animals
Animals can be a great motivator in helping someone through their time of need.
This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
We pay close attention to natural disasters but sometimes miss personal human challenges. Animals can be a great motivator in helping someone through their time of need. This is what Intermountain Therapy Animals is accomplishing through their mission to maximize the benefits from the human/animal bond and bring relief to people.
Intermountain Therapy Animals in Salt Lake City is one of the largest animal companionship programs in the United States with 350 plus teams of handlers and their animals. They’re taking this powerful goodwill to 150 facilities in Utah like Ronald McDonald House, Primary Children’s Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Center.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, Intermountain Therapy Animals is holding their annual ITA Fundraiser, Paws on the Trolley. The event will be held at The Falls Event Center at Trolley Square, 580 S. 600 East in Salt Lake City, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are available and include a sponsor table of eight, with table sponsorships still available. An online silent auction is beginning Oct. 14. Funds raised at the event go to recruitment, training, screening and placement of handlers and their animals to make sure they’re in the right place to do their best work. Purchase tickets on the Intermountain Therapy Animals website, therapyanimals.org, that’s therapyanimals.org.
