As what he classifies a true neighborhood business, Dean Pierose believes his restaurant, Cucina should always be available to customers. He is so committed to this ideal, Cucina in Salt Lake City is known for being open 365 days a year, including on Christmas Day, where he serves pastries and coffee.

Cucina is known for their prepared entrees, like lasagna, chicken cordon blue or meatloaf, as well as their scones. Dean says they have some of the best cheesecake in Salt Lake City, made fresh daily, and crab cakes, with pasta made from scratch, so this a great place for a sit-down dinner.

Dean is remodeling and rebranding the restaurant. He wants to give Cucina a new look and feel and is bringing in a designer to accomplish his vision, which includes turning the restaurant into a wine bar. They are increasing from 27 to 95 wines on their new list and take great pride in their wine service. He loves the culture they’ve built, which brings in a wide mix of customers.

The word is out about Cucina, and they have a vibrant catering business. In fact, someone from the Utah Jazz discovered the Avenues business, and they’re now the caterer for all the team’s road trips. The business now includes 33 employees.
