In 2018 the labor market will likely continue to tighten, with job growth continuing and unemployment falling.
2017 was a year of strong employment growth, with the U.S. continuing its longest-running employment streak on record at 86 months. Unemployment also fell to a 17-year low of 4.1 percent. In 2018 the labor market will likely continue to tighten, with job growth continuing and unemployment falling. While economic growth didn’t pick-up until the second half of 2017, the momentum should continue into next year.
