Despite strong economic activity and an expanding labor market, equity and bond markets remain increasingly volatile. In October, the U.S. added a better-than-expected 250,000 jobs and annual wage growth jumped to a nine-year high of 3.1 percent. While markets initially responded positively to the strong employment report, uncertainty over the trade dispute with China, Fed rate hikes, and the midterm elections has weighed on investor confidence. Now with the midterms done and clarity around future policy paths taking shape, will the economy continue to thrive, and will investors, once again, be able to find their footing?
