Speaking on Business: Hamilton Manufacturing
Hamilton Manufacturing in Twin Falls, Idaho, has shipped its innovative product worldwide.
From hydroseeding on the Panama Canal to helping restore land after a fire in Santa Barbara, California, Hamilton Manufacturing in Twin Falls, Idaho, has shipped its innovative product worldwide. In fact, in 2016 the company received the prestigious President’s Export Award, making it one of only three Idaho companies to receive the award since its inception.
Hamilton Manufacturing provides environmentally friendly insulation and hydroseeding products classified as bio-preferred and organic. It is premium cellulose insulation made from recycled newspaper and cardboard that serves as a natural pest control and can significantly lower energy costs. The hydroseeding mulch is used for erosion control; however, it can also be used to help establish a lawn and restore vegetation after a natural disaster such as a fire.
Husband and wife team Gene and Gloria Hamilton founded Hamilton Manufacturing in 1962. Gene was installing insulation and roofing and thought, “Why not manufacture it instead?” He created his own line of organic insulation and became a pioneer in this type of product.
Today, Gene and Gloria’s daughter, Christy Hamilton Eames, is the CEO, and her husband, Tom Eames, is the president. They’re bringing the business into the second generation and are already teaching their two sons the business. This family company has projects in 15 states and 35 countries. All products are manufactured in Idaho before being distributed around the world.
