Pay-A-Friend is Back!

Have you ever gone to a movie with friends, only to discover that you'd forgotten to take your wallet along? Maybe you loaned a co-worker some cash for lunch, and now they need to pay you back. If your friends have an account with Zions Bank, our Pay-A-Friend feature makes reimbursing your friends practically effortless.

Set-up is simple and the transfers take place instantly! Follow the steps below to add your friends' accounts to your account profile and to complete funds transfers.

ADD A FRIEND'S ACCOUNT TO YOUR PROFILE

  1. Log into your Internet Banking account.
  2. Click on the "Transfers" tab.
  3. Click "Other Accounts."
  4. Select "Add Friend's Account at Zions."
  5. Enter the FULL 9 or 10-digit* account number of the account you wish to add (you'll need to get the account number from your friend). You can also assign a nickname to the account so you'll easily recognize which friend it belongs to.
  6. Click "Preview Account."
  7. At this point you can either Cancel, Edit or Submit the account addition.
  8. If you choose "Submit", the new account will be added to your list of friends' accounts, and you'll be able to complete transfers to them immediately.

TRANSFER FUNDS TO A FRIEND

  1. Log into your Internet Banking account.
  2. Click on the "Transfers" tab.
  3. Under "Transfer Options" click on "Create a New Transfer." (Please note that you must add your friends' accounts to your account profile before you can process a funds transfer.)
  4. Using the drop-down boxes, select the account of yours that you want to transfer funds FROM and the friend's account you want to transfer funds TO.
  5. Enter the amount of the transfer, including dollars and cents. (Example: 14.75) You can also enter any specific notes concerning the transfer in the "Memo" field.
  6. Next, enter the date that you want the funds to be transferred.
  7. Select the frequency of this particular transfer. In other words you can choose how often this transfer should take place. For instance, you can select:
    • 1 Time Only, for a funds transfer to occur only once
    • Every Week, and the same transfer will occur once every 7 days
    • Every Two Weeks and Every Month are the remaining frequency options
  8. Select how many times you want the transfer to take place, and then click "Preview Transfer."
  9. Review the Preview Transfer screen. You have the option to Cancel, Edit or Submit the transaction. If everything looks good, click "Submit."
  10. The next screen will show that your funds transfer was successful, or it will inform you if any errors occurred.

Once the transfer has been submitted, you'll immediately be able to review this transaction in the "Activity" section of your account. It will appear as "Internet Banking Transfer."

And that's it! Writing a check isn't necessary. No IOU's. No need for a trip to the ATM. Sending money to a friend has never been easier. If you have any questions about this process or any other Internet Banking feature, please contact our customer support team at 1-800-840-4999.
