Bank Awards
Zions Bank received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Rights Commission Drum Major Award. The bank was recognized for its activities and support in the community. The Drum Major award is given to those individuals and organizations that serve humanity.
Scott Anderson, CEO and President of Zions Bank, was named "Financial Services Champion of the Year" by the U.S. Small Business Administration Region VIII. This award honors individuals who assist small businesses through advocacy efforts to increase the usefulness and availability of accounting or financial services. Zions Bank has been the top 7(a) SBA lender for the past 13 years, and has been the top SBA lender in the Boise, Idaho district for the past five years.
Zions Bank received the Outstanding Community Lender award from the Salt Lake Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS). The bank was one of four recognized for its long standing commitment and contributions to support NHS programs.
Utah's Best of State named Zions Bank as the overall winner in the Business Services category at its annual awards dinner. The Best of State awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah. Zions Bank also received the following awards: Customer Servicing/Call Centers - Kanab Customer Service Call Center; Journalism - Speaking on Business; Best Employer and the Best Banking.
Zions Bank won the Platinum Pin Award from Junior Achievement for raising the most funds for the 21st annual Bowl-A-Thon. Bank employees raised more than $27,000 and had 450 participants.
The Downtown Alliance/Salt Lake Chamber awarded Zions Bank the Economic Development Award for the renovation of its building. The newly renovated Zions Bank Tower is part of an ongoing urban renewal effort to maintain a vital urban core for Salt Lake City.
Individual Recognition
The SBA named Zions Bank President and CEO Scott Anderson Financial Services Champion of the Year for 2005.
Scott Anderson received the Trustee of the Year Award from the Utah Technology Council for his vision focusing on the inventions of our local universities.
Doyle Arnold was ranked as the 3rd top CFO for mid-sized U.S. banks by Institutional Investor Magazine. Doyle Arnold is Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman for Zions Bancorporation.
The Silver Bowl Award was presented to Robert Rendon by Utah's Volunteer Centers Association for his outstanding volunteer service. Each county selected a volunteer for their outstanding service to the community. Rendon serves on many committees that positively impact low-income communities.
LeeAnne Linderman was one of the recipients of the Women On the Rise, Pathfinder Awards given by the Salt Lake Chamber Women in Business.
Matt Wilcox received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Junior Achievement. Wilcox has chaired the bank's efforts to raise money for the annual Bowl-A-Thon for several years.
Fred Ball received the Evening of Honors Award from the Utah/Idaho Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
In 2006, U.S. Banker Magazine recognized three Zions Bank executives as "25 Women to Watch." Susan Speer, senior vice president of Private Banking, ranked number 8; Becky Kearns, senior vice president and president of Resort Banking, ranked number 18; and Lori Chillingworth, senior vice president and manager of the Women's Financial Group, ranked number 21. They were selected from among 5,100 women of senior status in financial institutions across the nation. The magazine describes the 25 who were chosen "reflect how their progressive leadership and inclusive management styles are making an impact on their institutions' bottom lines."
